Rallyball Finals

Our Rallyball competition was held at the George Ward Tennis Center on Saturday, 11/17/12. George Ward and James Lewis Tennis Centers were the competing teams. We played four rounds of Rallyball and the James Lewis Tennis Center Over The Net finished in first place beating the George Ward Rockstars. There are also more rallyball pictures at: click here. Our Rallyball finals competition was held at the Homewood West Tennis Center on Saturday, 10/6/12. James Lewis, Homewood and Learning Excellence Through Tennis (LETT) were the competing teams. Four rounds of Rallyball were played and the LETT Angry Birds, James Lewis Wildcats, Homewood Firecats and Homewood Tornadoes finished first, second, third and fourth place respectively. Nickelodeon Play Day

Our Nickelodeon Play Day was on Saturday, 9/15/12, from 9am to noon at George Ward Tennis Center. We would like to thank the coaches and volunteers for making this event a success! In the picture on the left are the juniors that made the most points in our events (from left to right - Gerald Craig - first place, Azisa Sole, Yasmin Fisher and Amber Jones - all tied for second place). Lets Move

The YMCA had a Lets Move (Michelle Obama) program on Saturday, 8/25/12. We participated in this program and Amber Jones, Victoria Linson, Daryl Perkins and Coach Lewis volunteered to help teach tennis to the kids and adults that participated. Please click here to see more pictures.

Junior Tournament

Our Junior Tournament was at George Ward on Saturday, 8/18/12. The Juniors at George Ward won the gold in all three age groups (Girls 10s, Boys 12s & Boys 14s). Birmingham Youth Games
July 27, 2012

The Birmingham Youth Games was played at George Ward on Thursday, 7/26/12, and on Friday, 7/27/12. The teams that participated were Birmingham George Ward, YMCA Greystone, Pelham Racquet Club and Columbia (South Carolina). The first, second, third and fourth place teams in the girl's division were YMCA Greystone, Birmingham George Ward, Pelham Racquet Club and Columbia respectively. In the boy's division, the first, second, third and fourth place teams were Pelham Racquet Club, Birmingham George Ward, YMCA Greystone and Columbia. Representing Birmingham was the Birmingham George Ward team and players on the team are pictured below - Alexis Griffin, Delecia Mack, Victoria Linson, Morgan Richardson, Galen White, DeMoris Mack, Donneshia Mack, Harold McWhorter and Cameron Horton with Coach Vila Fisher. Auburn State Championship
July 22, 2012

Our 14 and under advanced team went to Auburn under the direction of Coach Donald Smith from 7/20/12 through 7/22/12 and placed third out of the four teams in their division. This was good results since we had to forfeit one match each time we played or 8 points. A third girl was needed but got sick one week prior to our match. In the picture on the left from left to right front row is Harold McWhorter, Gerald Craig, John Stanford and Raymond Pickett. In the back row from left to right is Alyxandria Harrigan, Coach Donald Smith and Victoria Linson. In the picture on the right John Stanford received the Sportsmanship award from Keith Wilson, Coordinator of the Tournament. Four teams competed and the LETT Superstars, LETT Dragons, James Lewis Jaguars and LETT Panders were our first, second, third and fourth place teams respectively.
